Would not it be great to wake up and smell fresh fragrant flowers every morning?  You can most certainly have this if you have a nice little garden by your window. But what if you don’t have space around your house for that wonderful Eden? So what you do is install window flower boxes. And most likely they are the fragrant flowers and plants signaling a coming of a new season.  For every season there is a different scent.  Christmas holiday is ushered in by the smell of pine trees and evergreens.  The smell of hyacinths is the dawning of spring.  As the season moves on, burnt leaves tug at the heart for summer has passed.  Window flower boxes start to smell with fragrant flowers as well with leaves sticking to the sides of the window boxes.

 

Just as the colors of the blooms are a feast for the eyes, the aroma and fragrance of flowers is fodder to the soul. Starting a fragrant garden can be exciting.  It is important to have the right mix of fragrant flowers in your window flower boxes.  A wrong combination may not bring out the best fragrance from your flowers.  You can even mix other plants instead of just having fragrant flowers in the window boxes. And finally we get to enjoy the aroma in and out of the house. Then we consider which flowers have the highest degree of fragrance at certain time of the day and of the season. The scent has its own function.  Men and women alike use perfumes and colognes to attract each other.  The flowers have their fragrance to attract the butterflies and other insects to spread out their pollens for a rebirth.  Next consider fragrant flowers that grow and bloom in different seasons.  Just a little diligence can make you grow fragrant flowers all year long.  You can do research to get a list of fragrant flowers and trees that grow in spring, summer, autumn and winter.  Plant Magnolia in spring, azalea in summer, for autumn the falling leaves of the seven-son flower and winterhazel shrubs for winter.  There is always a reason for everything.  Everything is in its place and a place for everything.  Spoil yourself.  After all you planted the fragrant flowers some in window flower boxes and other window boxes.

 

Vines and perennials aside from fragrant flowers can equally emit aroma as strong as those of fragrant flowers and herbs.  Care should be given because there are elements that can destroy the fragrance of the flowers.  Climactic conditions, less water and simmering heat retard the smell of the flowers.  But fragrance is intense when the air is caressing and soft and the moisture content of air is high.
